After the final round of the 2011 Apertura on December 11th, Juan Sebastian Veron announced his retirement from professional football*. In a seventeen-year career starting at his hometown club Estudiantes, La Brujita has gone on to play with Boca Juniors, in Italy with four different clubs (Parma, Sampdoria, Lazio, Internazionale) and in England with two Premier League clubs (Manchester United and Chelsea). Veron returned to Los Pincharratas in 2007, where he is due to take up a coaching career as well as becoming an AFA executive to work with the Argentinean national team.
