Chelsea dealt the huge blow in the race for Javier Pastore.
The South American midfield maestro has been strongly linked with a move away from PSG in the last few months.
However, according to Get French Football News, The Argentine star has now agreed to a new deal with Ligue 1 champions.
He is contracted to French club 2019. However, a contract extension seems to have been agreed after his officials completed talks with the PSG’s officials, including chairperson Nasser Al Khelaifi.
So the news will come as a massive blow to Merseyside Reds and The Blues who have both shown an interest in versatile midfield maestro in recent weeks.
Reports surfaced last month suggesting The 26-year-old Argentine star would be eager to move away from France and that PSG would be willing to welcome offers.
The Blues have reportedly held negotiations with Pastore’s agent while the German manager Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on trying to steal the deal.
Paris Saint Germain’s Ligue 1 success this season was Pastore’s fourth crown as they celebrated the victory, after winning the league by 31 points.
The South American star is likely to be named in Argentina’s Copa America squad that will be held in the United States this summer.
