According to the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger is determined to reinforce the squad by signing key Manchester United target Toni Kroos. The Gunners only signed one player last year, bringing in goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea when clearly more was needed in some outfield positions. Arsenal have a solid rep with the La Liga outfit after their deal for Mesut Ozil and are considering another major raid on the club. Reportedly, an approach has been made to Real for Kroos despite interest in Granit Xhaka. The Germany international has made 44 appearances this season for La Liga giants and has had a hand in 14 goals.
Wenger will need his style players, especially it’s believed that he might be sacked if fails in next season and would be sensible to make a move for Kroos, who has completed the most passes in La Liga this season (1,788) and also got 11 assists.
The Gunners are set to overhaul their midfield options this summer with Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini all left the club and Kroos could be an ideal replacement in the heart of midfield, because his passing, at its best, is up there with the finest in the game. He gets his head up, spots runners and can find them in the blink of an eye, capable of threading balls through tight spaces and unlocking defences.
The German could be ready for a new challenges, as Real boss Zinedine Zidane has tried to use him in a more defensive role, and his performances have suffered as a result.
Zidane has hinted that some players could leave Los Blancos at the end of the current season, while the German could become an excellent partner of Arsenal new boy Granit Xhaka.
