Former Chelsea midfielder turned ESPN pundit Craig Burley claims he has heard it is ‘nailed on’ that Moussa Dembele will join the Blues.
Dembele is on fire at the moment for Celtic, having recently struck back-to-back hat-tricks as his club fly above the the rest in the Scottish Premiership.
The 20-year-old was linked with a move down to Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window, something that never materialised in the end.
However, Burley thinks that his former club might be the ones snapping up the much-wanted French striker.
“Scottish football is quite embarrassing at the moment in terms of the standard but he is head and shoulders [above the rest]. He’s a good player and is young,” Burley told ESPN.
“Chelsea, I’m hearing, are the favourites [to sign him]. Talking to one or two guys I know back in Scotland, they said he is pretty much nailed on to go to Chelsea and possibly for around £40m.”
